I am on the faculty of the Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre where I am a Senior Acting Instructor.  I also have my own acting studio where I teach students privately. I am a 1983 graduate of the Neighborhood Playhouse, where I had the great fortune to be trained as an actor by legendary teacher, Sanford Meisner. My two years at the Neighborhood Playhouse would prove to be among the most important events of my life. The creative process that I was exposed to, the artistic principles I encountered and the relationships I forged have carried me through my entire professional career.

Whether it was working as an actor in theatre, film and television or as a founding member of a NYC based Theatre Company, it was the artistic values and way of working I learned from Sanford Meisner and his teaching colleagues that have been my constant artistic guide. Concurrent with my acting career I began apprenticing as a teacher with my artistic mentors from the Neighborhood Playhouse to learn the craft of teaching acting. After several years of this apprenticeship I began to teach and have been doing so full time for over two decades.

In addition to teaching at the Playhouse and at my private studio, I have also taught acting at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC.

At its highest level acting is an art form.  However, before it can become an art form it must be understood and mastered as a craft. I am committed to helping the actor find their way on that journey.
